Job Description Job Description An established industrial mechanical services company in Greenville, SC is seeking an experienced Mechanical Repair Technician to join its shop-based fabrication and repair operation. This role supports the repair, rebuild, and modification of industrial mechanical and rotating equipment and is ideal for a hands-on mechanical professional with a background in pump repair, millwright work, or industrial maintenance. This is a first-shift position (four 10-hour days) and is primarily based in the shop. Occasional local day travel only may be required to support equipment service, installation, or startup activities. What You’ll Be Doing: -Disassemble, inspect, repair, and reassemble pumps, motors, gearboxes, and other rotating equipment -Perform precision mechanical work including fitting, alignment, bearing and seal replacement, and mechanical assembly -Troubleshoot mechanical failures related to wear, misalignment, vibration, or component damage -Cut, weld, grind, and fabricate metal components in support of mechanical repair projects (brackets, modifications, repairs) -Read and interpret mechanical drawings, fabrication sketches, and work instructions -Complete repair and fabrication work independently with minimal supervision -Maintain safe work practices and an organized work area -Assist with local, daytime field support as needed (no overnight travel) Required Qualifications -5 years of hands-on experience disassembling, inspecting, repairing, and reassembling pumps, motors, gearboxes, or rotating equipment in an industrial environment -Strong mechanical aptitude with proven experience using hand tools and precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, etc.) -Working experience with welding, cutting, grinding, and general fabrication as part of mechanical repair work -Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings or fabrication prints -Comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs -High school diploma or equivalent -Dependable, safety-focused, and able to work independently or as part of a team Schedule & Benefits: -First shift, four 10-hour days -Shop-based role with occasional local travel -Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, life, and disability coverage -401(k) retirement plan -Paid vacation and holidays Equal Opportunity Employer / Disabled / Protected Veterans The Know Your Rights poster is available here: https://www.eeoc.gov/sites/default/files/2023 -06/22- 088_EEOC_KnowYourRights6.12.pdf The pay transparency policy is available here: https://www.dol.gov/sites/dolgov/files/ofccp/pdf/pay - transp_%20English_formattedESQA508c.pdf For temporary assignments lasting 13 weeks or longer, the Company is pleased to offer major medical, dental, vision, 401k and any statutory sick pay where required.
