Job Description:
Job Description Job Description Overview We are seeking a
hands-on Electrical/Mechanical Engineer to support manufacturing
operations, perform equipment upgrades, and provide technical
support both in-house and in the field. This role is ideal for an
engineer who enjoys working directly with hardware, troubleshooting
electromechanical systems, and collaborating closely with
manufacturing, service, and engineering teams. Key Responsibilities
Support day-to-day manufacturing operations by troubleshooting and
resolving electrical, mechanical, and electromechanical issues on
production equipment. Perform hands-on manufacturing upgrades,
retrofits, and continuous improvement projects to improve
reliability, safety, and performance. Assemble, wire, modify, and
test electrical and mechanical systems, subassemblies, and
equipment. Diagnose and repair electronic systems including power
supplies, sensors, motors, drives, PLCs, and control panels. Read,
interpret, and update electrical schematics, wiring diagrams,
mechanical drawings, and bills of materials. Collaborate with
manufacturing, quality, and design engineering teams to resolve
production issues and implement design improvements. Support
equipment installation, commissioning, and validation activities.
Provide field service support as needed, including on-site
troubleshooting, upgrades, and customer support (travel may be
required). Document work performed, including service reports,
upgrade instructions, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Ensure all work complies with safety standards, electrical codes,
and company procedures. Required Qualifications Bachelors degree in
Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a
related field; equivalent hands-on experience will be considered.
Strong hands-on experience with manufacturing equipment and
electromechanical systems. Working knowledge of electronics,
including circuit troubleshooting, wiring, sensors, motors, and
control components. Solid mechanical aptitude, including experience
with mechanical assemblies, pneumatics, motors, gearboxes, and
alignment. Ability to use standard test equipment such as
multimeters, oscilloscopes, and power supplies. Experience reading
and interpreting electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced
manufacturing environment. Ability to work independently and as
part of a cross-functional team. Willingness and ability to travel
for field service work as required. Preferred / Nice-to-Have
Qualifications Experience with PLCs, HMIs, and industrial control
systems. Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as assembly,
test, automation, or production line support. Experience with CAD
tools (electrical or mechanical). Background in field service or
customer-facing technical support roles. Knowledge of relevant
safety standards and electrical codes (e.g., NFPA, UL, CE).
Physical Work Requirements Ability to work hands-on with equipment,
including lifting components, using tools, and working on the
manufacturing floor. Comfortable working around energized equipment
while following proper safety procedures. Ability to travel to
customer or field sites as needed. What We Offer Opportunity to
work in a highly hands-on, impactful engineering role. Exposure to
both manufacturing and field service environments. Collaborative
team culture with opportunities for continuous learning and growth.
Option A: Manufacturing-Heavy Focus (Hands-On / Factory-Based)
Ideal for candidates who enjoy working directly with hardware on
the manufacturing floor. Role Emphasis This role is best suited for
a highly hands-on engineer who prefers building, modifying,
troubleshooting, and improving equipment in a factory environment.
The focus is on execution, reliability, and continuous improvement
rather than desk-based design work. Hands-On Manufacturing
Responsibilities Spend the majority of time on the manufacturing
floor working directly with production equipment. Perform hands-on
electrical wiring, mechanical assembly, adjustments, and retrofits.
Troubleshoot real-time production issues to minimize downtime and
improve throughput. Lead equipment upgrades, reliability
improvements, and corrective actions. Support pilot builds and new
product introductions (NPI) with a strong execution mindset.
Partner closely with technicians and operators to improve equipment
usability and maintainability. Hands-On Candidate Profile Enjoys
working with tools, equipment, and hardware daily. Strong practical
troubleshooting skills over purely analytical or design-focused
work. Comfortable in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Travel
is minimal and not a primary driver for this role. Option B:
Field-Service-Heavy Focus (Customer-Facing / Travel-Based) Ideal
for candidates who enjoy working directly with customers and
solving problems in the field. Role Emphasis This role is best
suited for an engineer who enjoys independence, travel, and
customer interaction. The focus is on diagnosing issues on-site,
representing the company professionally, and ensuring customer
success with installed equipment. Customer-Facing Field Service
Responsibilities Travel to customer sites to install, commission,
upgrade, and repair equipment. Troubleshoot electrical, electronic,
and mechanical issues independently in the field. Act as a
technical expert and trusted point of contact for customers.
Communicate clearly with customers regarding issues, solutions, and
next steps. Train customer personnel on equipment operation and
maintenance. Provide structured feedback from the field to improve
product design and manufacturability. Customer-Facing Candidate
Profile Enjoys working directly with customers and representing the
company externally. Comfortable working independently with minimal
supervision. Strong communication and documentation skills.
Willingness to travel frequently is essential. This position can be
positioned as either hands-on manufacturing-focused or
customer-facing field-service-focused based on business needs and
candidate strengths. Short LinkedIn-Style Postings LinkedIn Version
