Western Piedmont Community College is seeking to fill the
following position:Instructor: Construction Trades
The instructor will serve as an instructor and academic advisor for
students in the construction trades programs and will work with a
team of full-time and part-time construction trades (carpentry,
electrical, plumbing, HVACR and masonry) faculty. The Construction
Trades Team will develop new industry demanded programming for both
curriculum and continuing education. The instructor is directly
supervised by the coordinator, department head, and/or the division
dean. The instructor will serve as an academic advisor for students
in the trades programs; will aid in the design, development and
selection of the required facilities, equipment, software and
textbooks.; will assist in the development and supervision of other
instructors and student assistants; and will assist in the
marketing of the courses and programs. Courses to be taught may
include day, evening, online, and weekend hours. The instructor is
a teaching position, which will carry a full teaching load in
addition to other College related responsibilities.

Associate Degree in Construction Technology, Construction Science,
or equivalent OR possession of a related license or certifications
such as General Contractor's, Electrical, Plumbing or
HVACR/License. National Center for Construction Education and
Research (NCCER) Certification or equivalent a plus.
Bachelor Degree in Construction Technology, Construction Science,
or equivalent preferred.
Construction experience – minimum of 5 years of related hands-on
construction experience required.
Teaching or training at the post-secondary level experience
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required.
Must obtain and maintain appropriate NCCER certification (or
supervisor approved equivalent) within the first 12 months.
Salary: Hiring Range – Minimum to Midpoint ($4,340 – 6,036/monthly)
