Purpose of JobWe are seeking a hardworking and talented Risk and
Compliance Analyst to work a hybrid schedule from our Charlotte, NC
or San Antonio, TX offices.
Positioned as the first line of defense to ensure that management
programs, risk analytics, and business operations are all running
smoothly. To support risk and compliance-based initiatives, this
person will partner and collaborate with Compliance and Risk
Management, as well as Business Operations, IT, Audit Services, and
Regulators. Minimize risk exposures and reinforce the overall
control environment, ensure adherence to the governance of the
established risk framework and ongoing supervision controls,
including risk and control self-assessments, identification, and
evaluation of control effectiveness, identifying control failures,
facilitating remediation, market conduct exams, and monitoring.
Identifies critical data-driven insights connected to the business

level.Primary Responsibilities:
- Handles and drives solutions for stronger controls on behalf of
the business, and in support of risk and/or regulatory compliance
related initiatives which may include oversight of
procedures/process, accurate regulatory reporting and filing,
document governance, risk control self-assessments, procedure
governance, control design, or new product controls, supplier
governance, or quality governance.
- Performs ongoing supervision and oversight of business controls
and shares knowledge with team members to evaluate the
effectiveness of established business controls.
- Serves as a Subject Matter Authority in one or more key areas
e.g., Governance, Risk, and Compliance data (GRC) data.
- Holds responsible for data analysis, report preparation and
trend analysis, applying business intelligence tools.
- Anticipates business needs and proactively finds opportunities
to improve and strengthen the control environment through practical
insights.
- Provides guidance in the execution of Risk Control
Self-Assessments (RCSA's), translates control deficiencies into
action plans and provides recommendations to enhance governance
practices in alignment with risk and compliance frameworks.
- Partners with customers to drive improvement efforts to correct
or prevent unfavorable trends and assess the impacts.
- Facilitates, manages, and is responsible for projects involving
cross-functional areas.
- Leads project team through concept, planning, execution, and
implementation phases for effective and timely risk
remediation.
- Counsels senior management on the status of their control
environment related to risk identification and control weaknesses.
Identifies critical areas to lead all aspects of and advance issues
and findings to appropriate partners.
- Establishes and maintains processes, procedures, and tools for
handling exception alerts as they occur, including monitoring and
management of resulting exception cases. Ensures adherence and
compliance with regulations and controls by examining and proper
documentation.
- Primary resource to less experienced team members and/or cross
functional team members and consults on risk mitigation
opportunities. Stays informed of changes to the regulatory
environment to ensure accurate compliance with processes and
requirements are followed.Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree: 4 additional years of related experience
beyond the minimum required may be substituted in lieu of a
degree.
- Minimum of 6 years' experience supporting risk and/or
compliance related activities in a financial services operating
environment or other relevant industry OR 6 years' experience in a
relevant quantitative field OR advanced degree or designation in a
risk management or quantitative field, and 4 years' proven
experience supporting risk and/or compliance related activities OR
PhD in a risk management or quantitative field, and 2 years of
experience supporting risk and/or compliance related
activities.Preferred Experience:
- 2-4 years' experience crafting control libraries for CFO
function.
- 2-4 years' experience implementing RCSA.
- SOX or ICFR, IT Audit, Risk & Controls experience at a Big Four
public accounting firm or public companyCompensation:USAA has an
effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges
to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary
range based on your experience and market position. The salary
range for this position is $80,200.00-144,500.00.Employees may be
eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and
individual performance or at the discretion of the USAA Board of
Directors.*Geographical Differential: Geographic pay differential
is additional pay provided to eligible employees working in
locations where market pay levels are above the national
average.Shift premium will be addressed on an individual basis for
applicable roles that are consistently scheduled for non-core
