SUMMARY OF POSITION

The Automatic Slitter Operator assists in the operation of an automatic slitter/packing line and rewinder, and performs all tasks to ensure that production and quality of tape meets the work order requirements

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Checks Bill of Material (BOM) for correct materials

Checks machine for safety and mechanical problems

Alerts other operators of each machine start up

Removes/clears jams and cuts off wrap-ups

Performs basic maintenance adjustments and troubleshoots

Checks and maintains proper materials

Performs yardage checks at least once a day and records

Performs visual inspections of knife banks and changes knives if needed

Responsible for proper creel and batch number change

Maintains production records

Checks and maintains records

Assists in housekeeping and safety programs

Inspects tape and decide upon quality

Removes seconds and rewinds from first quality

Responsible for set-up and adjustments to the automatic packing line

Stacks completed cartons on assigned pallet

Creates a Finished Goods tag

Checks and sets PECO machine for proper carton

Sets up case packer and case sealer

Inputs information in Print and Apply

Sets up and inputs - data for laser etcher
