3rd Shift Mixing Operator

Job Description:

The Mixing Operator operates the Banbury and/or Sigma Mixer(s) in accordance with the specifications assigned by Quality Assurance, Process Engineering, and Production

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Follows plant safety rules and job specific safety rules

Performs housekeeping duties

Starts up the Banbury

Prepares the Banbury for shift's run

Checks raw materials

Weighs raw materials

Checks temperature charts and gauges

Places compound pan in cradle

Mixes compound

Runs batches by specification sheets

Records process data on Banbury batch sheet

Checks viscosity

Red Tags "Out of Spec" batches

Records type of batches and shift quantities for Calendering/Mixing Shift Manager

Transports compound to Sigma

Picks batch pan up with tow motor

Transports compound to Sigma belt

Dumps compound onto Sigma belt

Returns pan to Intermix

Checks with supervisor to verify what adhesive(s) to mix

Checks for any NSOP(s) that apply

Mix Adhesive

Use proper specification for the adhesive to be mixed.

Record data on batch sheet for all batches.

Load compound to start mixing adhesive.

Operate Sigma manually or automatically as required.

Manual Operation: Add bags of resin (add Adtac, if required) according to specification and by timer.

Automatic Operation: Set up and start automatic loading of resin (and Adtac, if required).

Discharge finished adhesive by moistened conveyor to the storage box

Keep mezzanine gate closed and fastened except when loading materials.

Keep aisles and stairs free of materials and trash.

Performs S-4 and Housekeeping - around area.
