The team focuses on several key risk types, including conduct, credit, financial crimes, information security, interest rate, liquidity, market, model, operational, regulatory compliance, reputation, strategic, and technology risk.The group provides leadership, enhances communications, assists with problem identification and solutions, and shares best practices. In addition, the group provides an enterprise-wide view of risk, assists management and our Board of Directors in identifying and monitoring risks that may affect multiple lines of business, and takes appropriate action when business activities exceed the risk tolerance of the company.The Operational Risk Business Oversight (ORBO) function is part of the broader Operational Risk Group (ORG) within Corporate Risk. -- The team is focused on independent oversight of front-line business groups with responsibility for aggregating, challenging, and overseeing all operational risks present in the business and its operations. -- The Structural Planning & Administration (SP&A) team within the broader ORBO function is accountable for developing and driving a consistent, collaborative, sustainable approach to business-aligned oversight for operational risk. This team has responsibility for developing and maintaining a documented program; ensuring the program is consistently applied; driving a coordinated credible challenge calendar; and developing/executing routine information sharing across all three lines of defense.This position will be accountable for supporting various Independent Risk Management (IRM) driven activities, initiatives and projects on behalf of ORBO and is expected to engage and partner with senior leaders across ORBO, ORG and the broader IRM teams to drive and effect change.Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:------ Develop and institute mechanisms for the SP&A team to maintain transparency into key initiatives/priorities and work products driven by IRM------ Maintain visibility into broader ORG/IRM plans, initiatives and activities to ensure connectivity and alignment with SP&A activities------ Coordinate ORG-required activities/routines across the business-aligned team (ex: ORBO engagement in maturity assessments, quarterly ORG board reporting, etc.)------ Assist SP&A Leadership with directing/driving activities across IRM to support ORBO maturity------ Support execution of internal team routines (ex: -- off-sites/meetings, budget/financial plans, status reports/team SharePoint site administration)------ Provide oversight of the development and maintenance of engagement models and procedure documentation aligned to assigned risk program(s)/topic(s)------ Perform other shared services/team responsibilities to improve SP&A routines, ensuring alignment with ORBO & ORG strategies & priorities.Location: May consider other locations across the Wells Fargo footprint

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in risk management (includes compliance, financial crimes, operational risk, audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, IT systems security, business process management) or 10+ years of financial services industry experience, of which 7+ years must include direct experience in risk management

    • Knowledge and understanding of operational risk management in the financial services industry
    • Knowledge and understanding of project management and implementation in a matrix managed environment
    • Advanced Microsoft Office skills
    • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
    • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
    • Ability to interact with all levels of an organization

      ------ Meaningful knowledge of the enterprise Risk Management Framework; Enterprise Risk Programs, and Operational Risk Management Programs------ Experience building or implementing new risk processes or programs------ Proven leadership and project management skills to drive alignment across stakeholder groups to develop and deliver repeatable end to end risk management solutions------ Self-starter with the ability to multi-task, prioritize work, meet deadlines, and achieve success working in a fast paced environment------ Ability to work with limited direction and take initiative and ownership in decision-making and problem solving------ Demonstrated leadership ability that embodies the Wells Fargo Vision and Values and leadership competencies------ Ability to pro-actively manage and resolve conflict and effectively defend decisions with objective rationale------ Experience with target operating model development and execution------ Experience in supporting program management------ Prior experience in large scale business, technology and operational transformation------ Proven ability as an effective and compelling communicator------ Executive presence, high energy, ability to manage complexity and a broad scope------ Ability to think in new ways about problems and issues, balancing creativity with pragmatism------ Experience with one or more of the following programs: -- Enterprise Risk Measurement, Issues Management, and Enterprise Testing & Self Assurance; deep understanding of aligned policy/standards/requirements/process------ Exceptional ability to partner and collaborate with a breadth of stakeholders and constituents

      Job Expectations
      • Ability to travel up to 15% of the time
