Job Description:

We have a BC/BE Anesthesiologist position to join an Anesthesiology group in beautiful Hickory, NC. The group has a long standing exclusive contract with the Medical Center, has 6 anesthesiologists, and a 2-year track to partnership. This is a 258-bed, independently owned hospital, that serves a 5-county area. Cases would include general surgery, ortho, ENT, urology, peds, spine, OBGYN, GI, vascular, some thoracic, and cases outside of the OR. There is 100% CRNA supervision with an average ration of 3:1. Current call rotation is 1:6 average and every 6th week in rotation is off. Call is assigned and shared equally among practice providers. The group offers a full benefits package including malpractice coverage, health and dental insurance, disability, and 401K with matching. Hickory is located in a superb geographic location, just 45 minutes northwest of Charlotte and an hour east of Asheville. Lakefront living is possible within a 10-15 minute drive of the hospital. The highest mountains of the eastern US and 4 ski resorts are within a 1 hour drive. The famed beaches of North and South Carolina are an easy 4-5 hour drive away. Hickory population is about 50,000, and serves as the center of the 4th largest metropolitan statistical area in NC with the medical community serving a population of well over 400,000. The Hickory area has many amenities without the traffic and hassles of a large city. Hickory is proud to be the home of the Western Symphony Orchestra, Hickory Choral Society, Science Center, and our own Art Museum. There are also two very active community theaters in the county. The school systems are excellent; both public and private.
