What You ll Do
- Provide daily rounds on newborns in a Level I
nursery setting
- Attend deliveries when requested
- Stabilize and manage newborns, including facilitating transport
to higher-level care NICUs nearby
- Take call from home (with structured in-house rounding during
the day)
- Support newborn care continuity while coordinating with the
broader clinical team
- Help lead care operations as the nursery launches as a
new 10-bed unit
What You NeedRequired
- NNP Board Certified (must be Neonatal Nurse
Practitioner; no FNP/PNP or other NP
certifications)
- 2+ years of employment experience as an NNP
(RN experience does not count toward this requirement)
- Ability to work 24-hour shifts with
in-house rounding during the day and call
from home
- Not accepting new graduate candidates
- Not accepting Locums candidates
Preferred
- Experience working in a neonatal unit and coordinating
transport/escalation of care for higher acuity needs
About the Assignment
This position is with a leading facility in Belmont, North
Carolina opening a brand-new 10-bed LDRP Level I
Nursery scheduled for late 2024. The unit anticipates
approximately 600 deliveries per year with an
average daily census around five newborns, and
care will be supported by a dedicated team of NNPs alongside
physician specialists. The Belmont team includes 4
NNPs, with additional coverage supported through closely
located services.
