weeks - Openings: 1 Description American Traveler is seeking an
experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU/Telemetry) position
at a Level 3 Trauma, Certified Chest Pain and Stroke Center
facility in Shelby, NC, requiring at least 18 months of PCU
experience and flexibility to float within a multi-facility
regional network. Details - 32-bed Progressive Care Unit (PCU) at a
241-licensed-bed Level 3 Trauma and Certified Chest Pain and Stroke
Center - Patient population includes those not requiring mechanical
ventilation, with common diagnoses such as CHF, dysrhythmias, chest
pain workup, stroke, respiratory illness, diabetes, AKI/CKD, ETOH
withdrawal, and IVDA - Typical RN-to-patient ratio is 1:4, with the
possibility of 1:5 depending on acuity - Telemetry monitoring
available at both bedside and nurses station - EMR: Epic
(experience required) - IV pumps: Alaris | Med dispensing: Omnicell
| Monitors: Philips - 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 36
hours per week - Every other weekend rotation required - No on-call
or call-back requirements - Floating is required within Region 3
(Cleveland, Kings Mountain, Lincoln, and Central Division including
CMC Main, Mercy, and LCH) — candidates who are not agreeable to
this requirement should not apply Requirements - Active NC or
Compact RN license required - Current certifications required: BLS,
ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) - Minimum 18 months of PCU RN
experience required, with most recent experience within the last
year - Required clinical skills: tracheostomy care, cardiac drip
management, cardiac rhythm interpretation, chest tube management,
blood product administration, wound care/dressing changes, and
central line management - At least 1 professional reference from a
Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN, dated within the past
year, required for consideration - Last 4 digits of SSN and full
date of birth required for consideration - Candidates must reside
more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this
position Additional Information - CNA support available for ADLs;
HUC/Receptionist support on day shift only; Charge Nurse available
as a clinical resource - Phlebotomy team handles most draws; IV/VAT
Team, Respiratory Therapy (24/7), Hospitalist (24/7), and
Intensivist (24/7) on staff - Orientation includes facility-level
NEO plus 2 days of departmental orientation - Travelers are
expected to work 75% of assigned holidays - RTO: Up to 6 days off
may be approved, excluding holidays; any time off that results in
unmet contracted hours must be added to the end of the contract -
Scheduling is done in 6-week cycles - Required scrub color: Navy -
