Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Cardiac Progressive Care Unit
(PCU) position at a Level 1 Trauma Academic Medical Center in
Winston-Salem, NC, requiring cardiology experience and proficiency
with vasoactive drip titration. Details - 12-hour night shifts with
an 1830 start time - 28-bed Cardiac PCU with an average census of
26 - Patient population includes Acute Coronary Syndrome, heart
failure, NSTEMI/STEMI, chest pain rule-out, post-cardiac cath (PCI
with or without stent), post-EP procedures (pacemaker insertion,
ICD, ablation), arrhythmia management, and vascular conditions
including Peripheral Artery Disease, AAA repair, and DVT/PE -
RN-to-patient ratio of 1:4–5; CNA support ratio of 1:11–14 - Every
other weekend rotation required - Travelers are expected to work
75% of assigned holidays - Floating within the cardiology division
first, then to any med-surg unit within the hospital, including
centralized telemetry; facility-wide float to other units is for
emergency situations only - No on-call or call-back requirements -
EMR: Epic - IV pumps: Alaris; medication dispensing: Omnicell;
patient monitors: Philips Requirements - Active NC RN license or a
Compact RN license currently in hand - Current certifications: BLS,
ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) - Minimum 1 year of cardiology
nursing experience, with most recent experience within the last
year - Proficiency in cardiac rhythm interpretation and cardiac
post-procedural care - Must be comfortable titrating vasoactive and
cardiac drips including Argatroban, Digoxin, Diltiazem, Dobutamine,
Dofetilide, Dopamine, Esmolol, Lasix, Insulin, Labetalol,
Lidocaine, Milrinone, Nicardipine, Nitroglycerin, Sotalol, and
Tirofiban - Epic EMR experience - Last 4 digits of SSN and full
date of birth required for consideration - Minimum 1 professional
reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager,
Director, or Charge RN Additional Information - Level 1 Trauma
Center and Academic Medical Center with a Chest Pain Center and
Stroke Center - Unit support includes CNAs (vital signs, blood
glucose checks, safety rounds, and ADLs), a Receptionist/HUC,
charge nurse, 24/7 Respiratory Therapy, 24/7 Hospitalist, and 24/7
Intensivist coverage; phlebotomy available for peripheral blood
draws; no IV/VAT team on unit - Nurses are responsible for
monitoring and verifying telemetry strips once per shift; no
dedicated telemetry monitoring tech - Orientation includes
hospital-wide NEO followed by 2 days of departmental orientation -
Royal blue scrubs required - Free, on-site parking available - Unit

AHSE facility must have been separated for at least 1 year before
