qualifications will not be considered. A nursing opportunity is
available for an RN with Stepdown experience in Lexington, NC. This
role involves working on a newly opening progressive care unit
(PCU) that will transition into an intensive care unit (ICU) by the
end of 2026. Ideal candidates will have at least two years of
critical care experience, with a strong preference for
cardiovascular ICU skills. Location This position is based in
Lexington, NC, a city known for its rich history and vibrant

and quality of life. Responsibilities Provide high-quality nursing
care to patients with complex cardiac conditions including CHF,
cardiomyopathy, shock, arrhythmias, and post-cardiac surgeries such
as CABG and heart transplants. Manage patients requiring advanced
support devices such as Swanz catheters and Impella. Perform wound
care, dressing changes, defibrillation, EKG interpretation,
cardioversions, managing invasive lines and drips including
pressors and sedation. Support patients with chest tubes, trachs,
bipap/cpap/hi-flow assistance, and ventilators once transitioned to
ICU care. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including charge
nurses, hospitalists, intensivists, respiratory therapists, and
support staff. Utilize EPIC electronic medical records and Omnicell
medication dispensing systems. Participate in unit floating as
needed within scope to related departments. Qualifications Licensed
Registered Nurse (RN) with BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.
Minimum 2 years of ICU or PCU experience; CVICU preferred. Starting
late 2026, ICU-specific experience required. Experience with
cardiac care patients, LVAD, post-transplant care (training
available). Ability to manage acute cardiac patients and complex
post-surgical cases. Comfort with critical care technology and
equipment listed above. Additional Details Patient ratios initially
1:3-4, moving to 1:2-3 once unit becomes ICU. Support includes 1
CNA per shift, charge nurse, phlebotomy, PICC team, and 24/7
hospitalists and intensivists. Orientation includes 2 shifts
on-unit. Royal blue scrubs required; free parking provided.
Contract assignment with potential floating to related units. This
