Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Special Procedures Technologist - Discipline: Allied Health Professional - Start Date: 03/30/2026 - Duration: 12 weeks - 40 hours per week - Shift: 8 hours, rotating - Employment Type: Travel Allied Position Job Notes: /n/n Travel or Local Allied Healthcare Professional needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2 years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available. /n/n Opportunity: /n Diagnostic Imaging - Special Procedures Technologist /n/n Job Details: /n • Assist physicians and advanced practice providers with minimally invasive, image-guided procedures in routine and emergency cases /n• Operate specialized imaging equipment and prepare patients for procedures /n• Maintain sterile environment during procedures including injections, angiography, biopsies, tube placements, and thrombolysis /n• Complete patient chart reviews to verify exam orders and validate reasons for examinations /n• Review patient eligibility based on medications and NPO status /n• Interview patients regarding personal history, implanted devices, and contrast allergies /n• Explain procedures to patients and maintain safe, comfortable environment /n• Provide pre- and post-procedure patient care including patient education and discharge instructions /n• Adjust, maintain, and operate imaging equipment following applicable guidelines to acquire high-quality diagnostic images /n• Monitor vital signs when applicable and manage supplies and equipment for procedures /n• Administer contrast under radiologist supervision and monitor patients for adverse reactions /n• Implement radiation protection techniques following ALARA guidelines to minimize exposure /n• Maintain accurate records in clinical documentation systems and manage imaging data in PACS /n• Document procedures in EMR and ensure proper storage and retrieval of images /n• Work closely with radiologists and healthcare professionals /n• Respond in emergency situations including providing Basic Life Support /n• Required: R.T.(R) certification by ARRT OR advanced credentials R.T.(VI), R.T.(CV), R.T.(CI), or RCIS /n• Preferred: 1-2 years of experience /n• Subject to downstaffing with 36/48 hours notice during 13-week contract /n/n Facility: /n This healthcare organization provides comprehensive medical services with advanced diagnostic imaging capabilities and specialized interventional radiology services.
