Job Description Job Description Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1 years CVOR RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A specialized Registered Nurse with experience in Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) and Main OR settings is needed for a contract position in Gastonia, NC. This role supports a busy surgical department with 13 OR rooms, performing about 45 cases daily across a broad range of specialties including orthopedic, spine, general surgery, cardiothoracic, vascular, robotic, gynecological, plastic, and urology procedures. Schedule & Shift Details: 12-hour day shifts: 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, 36 hours per week Call requirements include 3-4 weeknight calls every 6-week schedule (7 PM7 AM), plus 1-2 weekend call shifts (7 AM7 PM or 7 PM7 AM) within the 6-week cycle Holiday call rotation applies No floating assignments Qualifications & Desired Experience: Current RN license with at least 2 years of experience in OR specialty nursing BLS certification required CVOR nurses must have strong, recent experience with CABG, TAVR, vascular, and thoracic procedures Experience circulating cases in orthopedic, cardiothoracic, vascular, general surgery, robotic, GYN, spine, breast, podiatry, plastic, and urology surgeries Familiarity with EPIC EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Phillips monitors is essential Ability to complete 5-day orientation (five 8-hour shifts; 1 week for Main OR, 2 weeks for CVOR) Role Responsibilities: Provide perioperative nursing care, supporting complex surgical procedures with precision and safety Collaborate with anesthesia, charge nurses, surgical techs, and OR assistants to optimize patient outcomes Maintain sterile field and ensure efficient room turnovers Participate in call rotation covering nights, weekends, and holidays Perks & Benefits: Free employee parking Contract assignment with a reputable surgical department Comprehensive orientation and team support during shifts About Gastonia, NC: Gastonia offers a welcoming community with rich cultural history, accessible outdoor activities, and a growing medical industry.
