Registered Nurse (RN) | Pediatric CVICU Location: Charlotte, NC Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,863 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: ASAP About the Position Job Title: RN - Pediatric CVICU Profession: RN Specialty: Pediatric CVICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12hr Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 (1900-0700) Experience: Minimum 2 years of Pediatric Cardiac ICU experience in a similar facility License: Registered Nurse (RN) License Certifications: BLS, PALS, NIHSS Must-Have: Experience with fresh open heart post-op patients Transplant experience Experience with Aquadex, Impella, ECMO EPIC experience Ability to float to PICU discussed during interview Description: The position is in a pediatric cardiovascular intensive care unit. The unit has a patient capacity of 20 beds, divided into two sides. Nurses are centrally located at the nurses' station, providing care to critical patients. Patient population includes ages 0-18 years with congenital heart differences. Experience in the management of pre-transplant and post-transplant patients is required. Duties include caring for patients who have undergone surgery and various medical interventions. Patient ratios vary based on acuity, typically between 1:1 and 2:1. There is an absence of a CNA; one nursing assistant supports unit secretarial duties. Support services include a unit secretary, charge nurse, and resource nurse available free floating. Respiratory therapy, cardiology, and intensivist services are available 24/7. Patients are predominantly monitored centrally or at the bedside. Experience with electronic medical records, specifically EPIC, is required. The schedule includes weekend rotations and call requirements based on unit needs. Holiday work is expected as part of the unit's requirements. Unit culture emphasizes teamwork, trust, and accountability.
