nursing license required Certifications: BCLS, AWHONN Intermediate,
NRP Must-Have: Experience with more than 300 births per month
Ability to handle double labor assignments Experience in a
fast-paced and high-acuity environment Description: RTO after
booking is not allowed. Any call-offs or additional RTO in the unit
could possibly turn into a cancellation. This is a difficult unit
that operates at a fast pace. Double labor assignments are a daily
occurrence on this unit. Nurses should be comfortable working in
this environment and handling high volumes. Preferred candidates
should have circulating experience in the Operating Room. Patient
care includes obstetrical patients 16 weeks and greater for all
intrapartum care. We also care for high-risk antepartum and
postpartum patients. The birthing care unit has an obstetrical
triage unit for screening patients. Routine procedures include
antenatal fetal surveillance and hydration. Scheduled and
unscheduled Cesarean births are performed. Strongly prefer nurses
with experience in high-volume settings. Candidates may be required
to float to other related units as needed. The unit maintains a
high patient ratio and requires working every other weekend.
High-pressure situations and quick decision-making are common in
this role. Candidates must be able to work collaboratively with an
interdisciplinary support team. Floating may occur based on patient
