HCA Healthcare is seeking a dedicated Nurse Extern for our General Surgery department, an opportunity to foster clinical skills in a supportive and high-caliber environment. This role is tailored for nursing students who are eager to apply theoretical knowledge in real-world settings, assisting in various surgical procedures and patient care tasks under the supervision of experienced nursing staff. This position promotes learning through participation in clinical tasks, aiming to bridge the gap between classroom learning and practical nursing responsibilities. Assist in the preparation and care of patients undergoing surgical procedures. Support the surgical team in ensuring sterile techniques and adherence to hospital protocols. Monitor and record patient vitals and recovery progress under the guidance of a registered nurse. Perform administrative duties such as updating patient records and scheduling appointments. Participate in educational workshops to enhance nursing knowledge and skills. Basic understanding of surgical operations and medical terminology. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in using medical software for health records. Active status as a Nurse Extern or similar role approval.
