Job Summary: To perform diversified duties in the Cardiac Cath Lab and Hybrid OR, assisting the cardiologist intra-procedurally including preparation and positioning of patients, operation of x-ray equipment in radiological and fluoroscopic procedures, scrubbing, circulating, monitoring, and recording hemodynamic parameters according to policy. Must successfully complete corporate and department specific skill validations and maintain core competencies. Core Competencies: The RN will be competent to monitor and circulate diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterizations, intermediate and complex interventional cardiac procedures, STEMI, diagnostic and interventional arteriograms. Responsibilities also include STEMI on-call team coverage and precepting new or existing employees. The RN Staff may progress to RN Intermediate by completing skill validations and maintaining competencies to monitor and circulate 2 of 5 Additional Specialty Areas. The RN Staff may progress to RN Advanced by completing skill validations and maintaining competencies to monitor and scrub 4 of 5 Additional Specialty Areas. Additional Specialty Areas: 1. EP Lab Procedures 2. TAVR - Structural Heart 3. Non-TAVR - Structural Heart 4. Advanced Peripheral Vascular 5. CRM Devices See CCL/EPL Skill Based Compensation Model document for additional details Qualifications: Able to communicate and collaborate effectively with staff, patients, physicians, and families to achieve positive outcomes. Current RN license to practice in NC (NC licensure or multi-state (compact) license required. BLS/ACLS certification required. Experience in Cardiac Cath Lab, EP Lab, special procedural settings, or critical care preferred. Applicants with 2 or more years of experience in a Cardiac Cath Lab or EP Lab may be considered for the RN Intermediate skill level. Applicants with 3 or more years of experience in a Cardiac Cath Lab or EP Lab may be considered for the RN Advanced skill level. Applicant must successfully complete the corresponding competency requirements and skill validations within 90 days of hire to maintain the RN Intermediate or RN Advanced skill level.
