Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 02/15/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) night shift assignment, requiring a TN or compact RN license and AHA certifications. Responsibilities - Work in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) of a hospital setting - Night shift schedule: 3x12 hours, 18:30–07:00 - Every other weekend required - No on-call responsibilities - Floating to similar units required as needed - Patient ratios may include up to 1:7 when floated to medical-surgical units - Involvement in nursing student support and clinical education - General orientation and online coursework begin on Sundays - Participation in clinical education and support for nursing students is required - Orientation includes online and on-site components, averaging 16 hours - Electronic modules must be completed during orientation - Holiday coverage may be required - No exclusivity restrictions unless previously employed by Ballad Health - Candidates must be flexible with picking up additional shifts as hospital census requires Requirements - Active TN or compact RN license required at time of consideration - Minimum 2 years of recent PCU or related experience required - Current AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required - Must live at least 100 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted - Willingness to complete drug testing within 12–14 days prior to start - Facial hair must comply with CDC fit testing guidelines - First-time travelers will be considered Benefits - High Pay and Bonuses - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options - 401(k) Plan - Weekly Payroll Deposit - Free Online CEUs - Generous Housing Allowance - Travel and Licensure Reimbursements - Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy - Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-663603.
