Job Description:

Get Paid While Training to become a CNAI. Blue Ridge will pay you to become a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNAl). We will pay for the trainee class and books as well as pay minimum wage to attend the class and clinical. Next class will begin on Jan 5th or 9th, 2023.

Requirements:

You must complete the reading portion of placement test and meet the minimum requirement for the school.

You must agree that you will be placed in a full time position on the shift and unit with the most need. (Placement is based on the needs of the facility/department.)

You must agree to work a minimum of one year in a full time position

Pass criminal background check

Pass urine drug screen standards.

Acceptance is based on interview; class size availability and Educational requirements of GED or high school diploma.

JOB SUMMARY: Assists the nurse in planning/implementing basic care as delegated. Demonstrates knowledge/skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age and culture of the residents/patients served, and ability to provide care according to departmental policies and procedures. Provides care over an extended time, in various settings, spanning the illness to wellness continuum. Performs other related duties as deemed competent.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Graduate of an approved CNA training program

Experience: Preferably, some Long-term care, med-surg, or related

License/Registration:CNA I-current listing as CNA I with Division of Facility Services with no substantial findings CNA II- above and current listing as CNAII with Board of Nursing with no substantial findings; Current CPR certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) is required Other: Ability to work with others; CNAI must attend Monitoring Blood Glucose Training within 6 months of employment. Behavioral Health; Emergency Department; and Contingency Pool are required to have CPI annually.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Requires frequently: pushing 40 lbs; pulling 80 lbs; standing; walking; repetitive trunk rotation-standing; manual dexterity; both handedness (both hands must be used) near vision; far vision; hearing (requires hearing whispered voice); Occasionally: lifting 35 lbs from floor to waist and waist to eye level; one handed carrying 15lbs; work kneeling; work squatting/crouching; visual color discrimination; and visual depth perception.
