the efforts of the Director of Life Enhancement in the planning,
implementation, and evaluation of recreational, social,
intellectual, emotional, and spiritual programs, in accordance with
the residents assessment and person-centered care plan, and as may
be directed. - -Essential Functions -Every effort has been made to

Rights -Knows and respects patients rights. Agrees not to disclose
residents protected health information and promptly report
suspected or known violations of such disclosure to the Executive
Director. -Ensures that all activities are with respect to patient
preferences and in a dignified way. -Ensures protected health
information is kept confidential. -Reports complaints made by
patients to supervisor. -Reports allegations of patient abuse,
neglect and/or misappropriation of patient property. -Safety and
Sanitation -Follows established safety policies and procedures.
-Observes safety needs of patients as indicated in care plan.
-Follows established infection control precautions and procedures.
-Wears and/or uses safety equipment and supplies when indicated and
properly trained to use. -Demonstrates job-specific knowledge of
fire and disaster preparedness during drills or actual situations.
- -Staff Development -Attends and participates in scheduled
in-service training, educational classes, and meetings to maintain
current certification as applicable and as managed by regulatory
agencies and organization policies. -Completes assigned Relias
training. - -Life Enhancement Staff Responsibilities -Assists in
the development and delivery of therapeutic recreational services
to promote the patients opportunities for engaging in normal life
enhancement pursuits and to increase and/or maintain functioning
levels. -Interview residents or family members to obtain activity
information. - -Involves residents/family in planning activity
programs when possible. -Involves resident/family in planning
objectives and goals for the resident. -Maintains
precautions/limitations list on each patient. -Encourages patient
participation in group and individual activities including
arts/crafts, community outings, religious activities,
intellectual/educational activities, community/facility service
activities, recreational activities, etc. -Assists in completing
activity documentation. -Observe resident attendance, mood,
behavior, and degree of involvement so that facility activities and
resident progress are evaluated, by noting, reporting, and charting
resident behavior. -Assist with planning and participates in
holiday and specialty events. -Transports resident to and from
activities as needed. -Arranges transportation for field trips when
necessary. -Assists with the set-up and break-down of activities.
-Explains the benefits of activities to residents and families.
-Copies forms for life enhancement programs, as needed. -Submits
supplies list to Director of Life Enhancement and submits receipts
for activity expenditures. -Assists Director of Life Enhancement in
the organization and supervision of the volunteer program including
recruiting and training volunteers. -Assists with Resident Council
Meetings when necessary. -Assists in planning community activities
that jointly include the community, staff, families, and patients.
-Assists in the completion of a monthly calendar of available
recreational services and posts it in the facility. -Coordinates
activities with other departments as necessary. -Participates in
facility surveys (inspections) made by authorized government
agencies as necessary or as may be directed. -Performs any
miscellaneous work assignments as may be required. -
-Education/Qualifications -High School Diploma with course work in
recreation is desirable; Completion of a state approved
activity-training course is preferred but not required. -Passion
for working with the elderly. -Ability to work independently.
-Ability to have fun and engage others; positive and outgoing
attitude; creativity a plus. -Able to assist residents with various
skills, abilities, behaviors, and diagnoses with resident-centered
activities. -Persons who have been found guilty by a court of law
or identified in by any registry, regulatory, or licensing body of
abusing, neglecting, or mistreating individuals in a health care
related setting are ineligible for employment in the position. -
-Experience -Previous experience in leading recreational
activities, arts/crafts, intellectual/educational activities,
community outings, etc., desired. - -Physical Demands -Lifting 20
pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects
weighing up to 10 pounds; Standing, walking, talking, hearing,
stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, feeling,
