Job Description:
Description:Responsible for supporting the Warehousing and
Transportation Management operations teams by conducting time and
motion studies for the warehouse, transportation, and supply chain
solutions. The position applies the scientific and mathematical
principles of industrial engineering to the process of
transportation and warehouse services.--- Specific emphasis is
placed upon the ability to generate, develop and implement time and
motion studies relating to cost-reduction projects utilizing Lean
Manufacturing techniques to improve productivity, quality, and
profitability for the company's logistics and warehouse operations.
--- Scrutinize and support Continuous Improvement initiatives for
the company including; work studies to analyze work systems,
developing standards, allowances and/or improvements to existing
systems, providing input for the development of functional layouts
that minimize space, material transit, distance, and provide
flexibility for expansion--- Assess ergonomic factors in work
systems and provide solutions/design factors to minimize injuries
-Studies operations- understanding process simulation, material
flow, functional statements, organization charts, and project
information to determine worker functions and responsibilities.
-Performs operational analysis, design, process improvement,
optimization in quality of project management activities,
optimizing methods of business organization. -Uses knowledge of
functional areas, organizational structure, and key business
drivers to support company initiatives and long-term growth
strategies, understanding individual and functional impact on the
whole organization.Skills:time studies, continuous improvement,
lean manufacturing, ergonomics, six sigma, project management,
transportation logistics, 3pl, CTPATAdditional Skills &
Qualifications:Must possess excellent verbal and written
communication skills and very good interpersonal skills to
coordinate the needs of customers and production teams with strong
analytical skills, leadership skills, planning skills, project
development skills, and good problem-solving skills working
individually and in a team environment. Must be able to manage
multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment. Word,
Outlook, and Excel. Preferred knowledge of project management
software (e.g.MS Project), advanced Microsoft Office applications
(e.g. MS Access), and database management and technical writing
capabilities. Preferred knowledge of Transportation fleet models;
knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations and CTPAT. A
wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. The position
requires a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering,
and 5 to 10 years of experience in a 3PL, logistics management, or
supply chain management. Experience with Six Sigma or other Process
