Job Description Job Description Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1 year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. A licensed Sign Language Interpreter with strong credentials and experience is needed for a travel assignment in Statesville, NC, supporting an elementary school setting. This role is scheduled from April 1, 2026, through May 29, 2026, with the opportunity to continue into the next school year, providing stability and ongoing collaboration within the school environment. Key Responsibilities: Provide on-site sign language interpretation services Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 2:30 pm, totaling 35 hours per week. Arrive early daily to prepare for student arrivals and ensure seamless communication support. Support a caseload primarily at an elementary school, fostering an inclusive learning environment for Deaf and hard-of-hearing students. Qualifications: Licensed Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) required. Minimum EIPA score of 3.5 or higher, or hold RID certification, demonstrating professional interpreting competence. Onsite presence required; no remote or voice-over interpretations (VOCO) permitted. Ability to work independently within the school setting and adapt to student needs. Location and Travel: This is a travel role based in Statesville, NC, providing interpretation services onsite at the designated school.
