?Back to all jobs at THOMAS JEFFERSON CLASSICAL ACADEMY School Bus Mechanic / Grounds Associate This position involves maintaining and repairing various types of buses, ensuring they are in proper working condition. Key responsibilities include performing routine preventative maintenance, diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical issues, and using both hand and power tools. The role requires a strong focus on safety, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team Responsible for inspections, preparation, and vehicle cleanliness. Support transportation logistics for routes, field trips, and events, and operate vehicles as needed and assigned. This position would also assist as needed with groundskeeping to include mowing, weeding, edging, debris removal and seasonal tasks like storm clean up and weather preparation. Requirements: Must be 21 years of age with HS diploma or GED; possess a valid Class A or B with a "P" and "S" endorsement; meet vision and hearing requirements; acceptable driving record; must be insurable; must pass background and pre-employment drug screen.
