Job Description:
Chief Financial & Operating Officer (CFOO) Position Summary The
Chief Financial & Operating Officer (CFOO) will serve as a
strategic business partner to the CEO, ownership, and executive
team, providing insight and recommendations on financial
performance, growth opportunities, operational efficiency, and risk
exposure. This role is responsible for the overall management of
the company’s financial health, operational execution, and
administrative functions, while supporting growth initiatives,
governance, and compliance. The CFOO will work closely with the CEO
and Board to align business strategy with financial performance,
operational excellence, and long-term value creation. Key
Responsibilities Executive Leadership & Strategy Serve as a
strategic advisor to the CEO, ownership, and executive team on
financial performance, operational efficiency, risk management, and
growth initiatives. Lead long-term financial planning, capital
allocation, treasury management, and operational performance
oversight. Represent the company with investors, lenders, auditors,
tax advisors, and strategic partners. Guide the company’s capital
structure, financing strategies, and liquidity management to
support development and acquisition activities. Lead financial and
operational due diligence for acquisitions, dispositions, and joint
ventures. Accounting & Financial Reporting Oversee general
accounting functions, including intercompany accounting, cash
management, financial reporting, balance sheet management, and
distribution management. Ensure timely preparation of monthly,
quarterly, and annual financial statements across all divisions.
Oversee construction revenue recognition, project cost tracking,
and lender draw submissions. Lead the preparation of tax filings
and ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local tax
requirements. Manage external audits and implement recommendations
from auditors. Maintain internal controls that safeguard company
assets and ensure financial reporting accuracy. Directly manage and
develop accounting staff. Financial Management, Operations &
Capital Strategy Oversee corporate and project-level cash flow,
forecasting, and capital budgeting. Support investment
underwriting, feasibility analysis, and financial modeling for
acquisitions and development projects. Partner with division
leaders (construction, property management, development, brokerage)
to monitor operational KPIs and ensure business units meet
financial and operational goals. Implement performance dashboards
and reporting to measure profitability, efficiency, and execution
across all divisions. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of debt
markets, treasury rates, and financing structures. Oversee investor
reporting, lender packages, and compliance requirements. Tax and
Treasury Oversight Lead all tax planning, compliance, and reporting
activities. Optimize the company’s tax position and manage treasury
functions, bankingrelationships, and cash optimization strategies.
Legal, Compliance, and Administration Provide strategic, financial,
and administrative oversight of the General Counsel and
administrative departments. Manage departmental budgets, monitor
outside counsel and vendor costs, and optimize administrative
efficiency. Integrate legal and operational risk assessments into
broader business planning. Collaborate closely with the General
Counsel on corporate governance, contracts, regulatory compliance,
and transaction structuring, while respecting the General Counsel’s
independent legal judgment and maintaining appropriate access to
the CEO and Board. Human Resources & Administration Oversee
payroll, benefits administration, HR policies, compliance,
recruitment, and retention of qualified personnel. Lead annual
performance review and compensation planning processes. Provide
leadership for office administration staff and support a
high-performing organizational culture. Information Systems &
Technology Oversee IT planning, development, security, and vendor
relationships. Manage accounting and construction management
software platforms. Serve as executive sponsor for technological
initiatives that improve efficiency, data integrity, and
cybersecurity Administer company purchasing card program, including
compliance and fraud oversight. Asset Management Monitor real
estate investment performance, including occupancy, NOI, leasing
velocity, and capital projects. Partner with property management
and leasing teams to execute business plans and maximize asset
value. Support valuation processes, refinances, and asset
repositioning strategies. Provide investor and lender reporting at
asset and portfolio levels. Risk Management & Compliance Oversee
enterprise-wide risk management, including insurance programs,
credit risk, and internal audit controls. Evaluate, structure, and
negotiate insurance coverage to mitigate organizational exposure.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory, tax, and legal requirements.
Develop enterprise risk policies and present risk assessments to
the executive team and ownership. Other Duties This job description

on company needs. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s
degree in Accounting, Finance, Real Estate, or Business
(MBA/CPA/CFA strongly preferred). 10 years of progressive
experience in accounting, finance, and asset/operational
management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role (CFO,
VP Finance, or equivalent) within real estate development,
construction, or property management. Proven track record managing
real estate portfolios, construction budgets, and debt financing.
Expertise in financial modeling, cash flow forecasting, and capital
markets. Strong understanding of US GAAP, real estate financial
reporting, and construction accounting. Proficiency with accounting
software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Demonstrated experience leading both financial and operational
teams. Physical Demands Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and
working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
occasionally. Position Type Full-time; Monday through Friday, 8:00
am to 5:00 pm. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required.
Incentives Salary commensurate with experience, knowledge, and
certifications. Potential year-end bonus. 401(k) match up to 3.5%.
